The Stables @ Montcoffer was originally stabling for 3 horses, with the lounge as the foaling shed, built in 1936 by the local potter John Reay.. The pottery in Bardon Mill still bears his name and remains popular local attraction. The accommodation is spacious with two large double bedrooms both en-suite (one with a bath and one wet room), large lounge and separate dining area overlooking adjacent fields, modern kitchen with breakfast bar. Unique features include the Alston quarried stone fire place carved by a local mason and the “Royal” bedhead in the main bedroom made from a church organ surround and an oak panel from Bagshot House, the home of Prince Edward.
